Brian O'Kane

Brian O'Kane expertly serves as the President and CEO of the O'Kane Group of Companies. He also guides Klarke Investments, managing a vast array of real estate holdings, including multi-family units, office buildings, commercial properties, and industrial spaces. His more than two decades of experience in property investment have given him profound expertise in financial management, cost accounting, and financial modeling. Since 2002, Brian has spearheaded the establishment of various property development and general contracting firms that have significantly contributed to the real estate landscape in Calgary. His leadership at Vectus from 2011 to 2015, where he oversaw the renovation of existing properties and the creation of new commercial and residential buildings, showcased his capacity for driving substantial urban development. Brian's professional background is rich and varied. Before his deep dive into real estate, he was instrumental in the growth and success of an oilfield equipment manufacturing company, leading it through a substantial expansion phase and orchestrating its eventual sale to a larger American entity in 2001. His extensive career also includes transformative roles at Capitan Overlay Technologies, where he was CEO, and Flotek Industries, where he was Vice President and CFO, led expansion initiatives, and introduced innovative products. Early in his career, Brian managed financial operations at Cassola Management, where he was responsible for 32 companies involved in diverse sectors such as construction and manufacturing. He also served as State Finance Manager for the Salmat Group in Australia, where he managed the finances for their operations in New South Wales. Brian was born in Toronto and moved to Sydney, Australia, at seven. He later returned to Canada in 1991. After spending time in Vancouver and Edmonton, he settled in Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and professional accounting designations from Australia and Canada. Brian is also a fervent outdoorsman who cherishes rally racing, skiing, and boating. These activities fulfill his adventurous spirit and allow him to connect with nature, particularly in the scenic environments around Calgary. His commitment to the community is demonstrated through his support for mental health initiatives and animal welfare. At home, he is accompanied by Benny, a rescued dachshund, and two cats, highlighting his dedication to animal rescue and pet-friendly living.
