Bruno Amezcua's artistic inclinations were shaped early on by his grandfather, a prominent film editor whose work spanned three decades from the 1950s to the 1970s. This early mentorship introduced Bruno to the intricacies of film editing and production, fueling his lifelong passion for storytelling and the visual arts. Driven by this foundational inspiration, he embarked on an educational journey in the arts, which set the stage for a flourishing 15-year career spanning a variety of creative endeavors. Bruno has contributed significantly to the film industry, with notable work on projects such as "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3" (2023), “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” (2011), "Next Gen" (2018), and "Maya and the Three" (2021). As a Hispanic-Canadian animator and director of camera units, his expertise encompasses CG camera work, photography, storyboarding, illustration, and artistic drawing. His professional focus is developing engaging visuals that elevate narrative storytelling, helping filmmakers realize their creative visions through meticulous previsualization and visual development. Educationally, Bruno's formative years culminated in a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. He also studied life drawing at the Museo Gregorio Prieto in Ciudad Real, Spain, a venue celebrated for its extensive collection featuring works by renowned Spanish artists. He further honed his skills in Canada at the Centennial College of Fine Arts and Technology, where he graduated with honors in 2008, distinguished as an outstanding international student. Bruno's career has seen him take on significant roles in previsualization, camera direction, and animation across major studios such as Blue Sky, Disney, Marvel, Netflix, and Amazon. His efforts were internationally recognized at the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards, where he received accolades for his diverse roles in the acclaimed project "Lost in OZ: Extended Adventure." Bruno holds positions as Senior Previs Artist at The Third Floor studio in Los Angeles and Previs Supervisor at a burgeoning video game studio in Toronto. Beyond his studio work, he is passionate about developing his intellectual properties, crafting screenplays, and conceptualizing characters. His commitment extends into his community contributions, supporting organizations like Autism Canada and participating in artistic initiatives to combat social challenges, such as gang violence in Toronto. Bruno Amezcua continues to forge a path in the visual arts and film sectors, combining his artistic talents with a profound commitment to storytelling and social impact.
