Dr. Jose Jacob is a highly experienced invasive cardiologist with over 23 years of expertise in treating cardiovascular diseases. He has contributed significantly to advancing cardiac care, specializing in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and transesophageal echocardiograms. Dr. Jacob earned his MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and completed a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College, further enhancing his qualifications and expertise. Dr. Jacob was born on January 3rd, 1960, in India, where he began his medical journey. He graduated with an MBBS from St. John's Medical College in Bangalore in 1983. Afterward, he pursued an MD in General Internal Medicine, which he completed in 1991. His solid foundation in internal medicine was the stepping stone for his later specialization in cardiology. In 1992, Dr. Jacob moved to the United Kingdom, where he gained valuable international experience. He worked as a Senior House Officer and Medical Registrar at Letterkenny General Hospital in Ireland. During this time, he completed his MSc in Cardiology with a thesis focused on thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction. This research was instrumental in expanding understanding in the cardiology field, particularly regarding treating heart attacks. 1996, Dr. Jacob relocated to the United States to continue his medical education and training. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. After finishing his residency, he advanced his training further by completing a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital. His fellowship in invasive cardiology laid the foundation for his clinical work in the U.S. for the years to come. Jose Jacob's career as an invasive cardiologist began in 2002, and he has since worked at several hospitals across the United States. He initially practiced at the Fayetteville Heart Center in North Carolina, and his career took him to other prominent hospitals, including Carolina Heart and Carolina East Cardiology. Dr. Jacob's skills in performing complex cardiology procedures, including catheterizations and pacemaker implants, have earned him recognition in the field. In addition to his clinical work, Jose Jacob has held leadership positions, including Director and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He also served as Chief of Staff at Martin General Hospital in Williamston, North Carolina, from 2019 to 2020. In 2021, Dr. Jacob relocated to Florida, where he practices at the Cardiac Specialty Institute in Leesburg and the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida in Ocala.
