Ellen Whitesides

I direct the projects related to implementing the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics at the Institute for Mathematics and Education (IM&E) at the University of Arizona. Some of the projects I work on include the Math SCASS, c-TaP toolkit, Illustrative Mathematics Project, and national conferences for teachers. I am a former high school geometry teacher in New Orleans and teacher trainer in South Africa. In the summer I teach mathematics and statistics to graduate school students who are studying public administration at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
