Helen W. Mallon

I am a fiction writer and a writing coach. When I was a child, I used to hide in the closet at night and read. After my mother confiscated the lightbulb, I'd drag my doll cradle over to the wall sconce, unscrew the bulb, stand on the cradle and scrinch it into the closet fixture, and sit among my shoes, reading myself drunk. Books saved my sanity then. Now I write about the humor in fearful things and the fearful aspects of love--which is a way of saying I like things quirky. About my work as writing coach, I most love helping people solve their writing problems. Oh, and I have an MFA from Vermont College. WIP: A novel, "The Conjurer's Daughters."
