Dr. Jim Lunt is the Managing Director of Jim Lunt & Associates. Dr. Lunt is actively involved with companies developing biodegradable and /or bio-based monomers and polymers. He also carries out screening of potential acquisitions of new technologies and companies and advises senior management on their strategic fit to the core businesses. Dr. Lunt is knowledgeable on all aspects of polylactic acid (PLA), other biopolymers, bio monomers and synthetic biodegradable polymers. His other expertise is in thermoplastic elastomers, polymer blends and alloys, phenolic foams, glass fiber reinforced plastics, and insulation products. Dr. Lunt is a recipient of the 2002 Presidential Green Chemistry Award and holds over 20 patents. Prior to finding Jim Lunt & Associates LLC, he was the Product Development Director at Natureworks, the world’s largest PLA producer, and led the development of Products, Applications, and New Business Development for fibers and plastics business in Asia
