Born and schooled in England. I have loved art from an early age. Finding it to be not only challenging and stimulating but also soothing, meditative and absorbing. However family and business life got in the way until in 2000 upon retirement I was finally able to take up my art again. I attended several Art schools on a casual basis. Pastel class with Cynthia Dowler, The Seahouse at Glenelg, Splashout at Marino in South Australia. I was by now able to explore and enjoy different media and styles. At home I experimented in my own studio. After moving to Sydney I attended Julien Ashton Art school where I did life drawing for a while. Then eventually settled in at the Royal Art Society Art School at North Sydney. Where I have participated in Life painting with Leyla Spenser, Portraiture with Yve Close (and occasionally Allen Sommerville) and currently Greg Hansell's still life and landscape pastel class. I don't have a particular style or medium preference, having experimented with oils, acrylics, pastel, pastel pencil, graphite and charcoal. However I do feel a need to create works that are realistic or true to form, without being photo-realistic and I like bright and colour forms.
