Eric Weaver, pilot, has logged extensive hours in seaplane operations, global Caravan Amphibian flights, and long-range Gulfstream missions for Fortune 100 corporate clients. His career reflects steady growth from his first experiences in rural Pennsylvania to international assignments across the Americas, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia, and South America. Today, he is a veteran business aviation pilot whose work includes both specialized operations and corporate jet missions at the highest level. Eric’s path demonstrates persistence, adaptability, and technical skill. Proficient in seaplanes, Caravan Amphibians, and advanced jet operations, he continues to expand his capabilities while also mentoring the next generation of pilots. His career has included teaching, demonstration flying, and corporate assignments, resulting in a balance of training and global aviation experience. He remains recognized for his versatility and range in business aviation. His introduction to aviation began on his family’s farm in rural Pennsylvania. His father and uncle owned a Cessna 170, which they operated from a closed paved road through the farm. This gave Eric his earliest flying experiences and set the course for his future career. Alongside this, he learned business skills through agricultural partnerships, retailing farm products, and direct-to-consumer food ventures. After high school, he joined Youth with a Mission, teaching English in Hong Kong, before returning home to help during a period of family and business challenges. He later earned a degree in Business and Management Information Systems from Anderson University in Indiana, equipping him with knowledge that supported his entrepreneurial ventures and aviation goals. After graduation, Eric and his parents purchased a 37-room lakeside resort in Florida. The property included a golf course, restaurant, and banquet space, and Eric managed weddings, events, and the daily operations. During this time, his interest in aviation was reignited when a seaplane arrived at the resort. He earned his private pilot certificate and purchased a 1954 Cessna 180 on straight floats. Following the resort’s closure after a 2004 hurricane, Eric committed fully to aviation, going on to earn commercial, instrument, multi-engine, instructor, and multi-engine seaplane ratings. During the Great Recession, Eric co-founded a seaplane base in Tavares, Florida, later known as America’s Seaplane City. Partnering with Ricci Rowe, he helped create a successful operation centered on seaplane tourism and advanced pilot training. As a high-time multi-engine seaplane pilot and instructor, Eric earned the FAA’s highest combination of category and class ratings—ASES, AMES, ASEL, and AMEL. He has recommended more than 100 pilots for advanced ratings and is regarded for his expertise in Caravan Amphibious aircraft. He also served as a demonstration pilot for Wipaire, manufacturer of Caravan Amphibious floats. In 2012, Eric began corporate flying from New York City in Cessna Caravans, covering routes across South America, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, and nearly every island in the Caribbean. Between 2019 and 2024, he worked for a VVIP client in the New York area, during which he earned a type rating in the Gulfstream 550. His career has since advanced to flying both G550 and G600 aircraft for a Fortune 100 company, operating long-range international missions throughout the Middle East, Asia, and South America. These assignments require precision, planning, and adaptability. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he continues mentoring pilots and is pursuing authorization from the FAA to serve as a Designated Examiner. Eric’s contributions also extend beyond flying. He has held roles as Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for Part 135 operators, helped establish a seaplane program at the Vermont Flight Academy, and engaged in outreach to promote aviation. He has volunteered with the EAA Young Eagles, flown missions for Make-A-Wish and Angel Flight, and supported the Seaplane Pilots Association. His career even includes a credited role in the film The Rum Diary, where he piloted a twin-engine seaplane. From his start flying a Cessna 170 on a Pennsylvania farm to his current work operating Gulfstream aircraft on global missions, Eric Weaver’s career represents steady dedication and professional growth. His path combines seaplane expertise, corporate aviation, training, and outreach. Today, he continues to balance his flying with mentoring and service, contributing both to his profession and to the future of aviation.
