Okay, I fess up...I don't live in an RV at the moment...heck, I don't even have an RV. But I am currently shopping for a Class B and plan to be on the road by the fall of 2012. Right now this blog is set up solely as a link for the Meetup group http://www.meetup.com/RV-Nomads. Once I find my rig, I will make this a real blog. I am excited to find my freedom on the road but I sort of a social type; not really a loner. The one major hesitation I have about living and traveling in an RV is the potential isolation. That is why I set up the Meetup group even before I hit the road. It's not my Meetup group, I am just facilitating it and my hope is that it will be successful so I won't have to be alone on the road when I want company. Sure, I could pop into the local tavern or coffee shop and strike up a conversation with the locals wherever I happen to be and I plan on doing that. But I want some real friendship too and I think the Meetup venue can eventually provide that. I will be traveling alone with my ginormous cat (he's just a big boy), Bogie. We lost our other buddy, a very sweet, loving 17 year old cat only a few weeks ago and we are still so sad, But, now that I only have one cat, it makes the proposition of living in a Class B more palatable. I currently live in San Diego County and I work as a freelancer; mostly on a remote basis. Occasionally I have to go in for real meetings and I am just going to have to figure out how I am going to make that work once I move to my RV.
